    A: A replacement of the rear side door latch needs the window to be in its fully raised position. Start by removing the door trim panel before taking out the door module combined with the water deflector. You can replace the bell crank by prying its central pivot tabs and pulling them away from each other. You can remove the inside handle assembly by first prying the rearward side then pulling it outward to make a forward slide. First disconnect the lock and handle rods from the clip guides followed by disconnecting the outside door handle rod through the rear access hole of the inner panel from the door latch retainer clip. Detaching the child security lock allows workers to remove door latch fasteners and pull the door latch assembly out through the inner panel access hole. Detach the electrical connectors together with the inside handle rod and inside lock rod from the door latch. Install the inside lock rod and inside handle rod to the door latch first after connecting electrical connectors . Through the inner panel access hole install the door latch assembly before securing it with fasteners which should be tightened to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Press the child security lock into place before attaching the outside door handle rod through the retainer clip which needs to be closed afterward. Press the front of the inside handle assembly through the inner panel opening so that its rear end can settle into position. Put the lock and handle rods through the clip guides followed by positioning the bell crank inside the inner panel opening. Continue to press the bell crank inward. Check that the door handles and locking system functions properly before you put back the water deflector, door module and door trim panel.
