    A: The first step to replace the front door latch begins with fully raising the window and stripping off the door trim panel. You must remove both the door module along with the water deflector. The front portion of the inside handle assembly requires precise prying while moving it backward. This action allows removal after pulling it outward and sliding it forward. The installation of the front door latch requires operators to disconnect the handle rod and lock rod from the clip guide followed by removing the outside door handle rod from the door latch retainer clip through the access hole of the inner panel. The inside lock rod and outside lock rod need to be disconnected from the door latch only in the driver door portion. Unfasten the fasteners while disconnecting the door latch assembly from the door before separating the electrical connectors and the inside handle rod from the same door latch component. Connect inside handle rod and electrical connectors to the door latch and place door latch assembly through the access hole of the inner panel. Insert the fasteners into the assembly then tighten them to 10 N.m torque specification (89 lb in). The outside lock rod must be connected to the door latch of the driver door while the inside lock rod should be connected to the door latch. To install the outside door handle rod into place, fit it into the retainer clip of the door latch assembly before closing the clip. Place the rear of the inside handle assembly into the inner panel opening while pressing the front section until complete engagement happens and attaching both the handle rod and lock rod with the clip guide. An inspection of the door operation should occur before you install the water deflector. The last installation step involves putting on the water deflector, door module and door trim panel.
