How to Replace a Brake Light Switch on 2001 Cadillac Eldorado?

Start by taking out the left sound insulator before working on the stoplamp switch. Twist the stoplamp/ABS/shift lock switch counterclockwise and remove it by pulling straight out. Untwist the electrical plugs from their connections on the switch. Connect electrical cables to the stoplamp switch then put it into the retention bracket. Push the switch over the retainer space until its plunger button sinks fully into the switch tube. Move the switch clockwise all the way to lock it securely. Finally, reinstall the sound insulator.
