The first step to replace the Drive Belt involves installing a 1/2 inch drive extension into the belt drive tensioner and then pushing it down to release tension. Use the Power Steering Pump Drive Belt to remove the tension from the Drive Belt while you reintroduce the tensioner to its starting position. The Drive Belt needs to pass through all pulleys with the exception of the Power Steering Pump and Drive Belt tensioner before installation. The 1/2 inch drive extension should go into the Drive Belt tensioner before using it to push down and direct the belt toward the tensioner wheel. When applying tension complete the belt road by placing it in the correct position of all pulleys. Stepwise move the tensioner back to its original place to create Drive Belt tension. Use the start engine procedure to inspect the belt for accurate routing and alignment following installation before testing accessory and belt operation.
