How to replace the thermostat on 2001 Cadillac Seville?

You should start by draining some of the vehicle's cooling system and unmounting the air cleaner assembly to replace the Thermostat. J 38185 hose clamp pliers enable detachment of the radiator outlet hose from its connection to the Thermostat Housing. Use your fingers to uninstall the Thermostat Housing bolts which secure it to the water pump inlet. Remove the Thermostat combined with the gasket from the water pump housing. Insert the new gasket with Thermostat into the water pump housing before placing the Thermostat Housing back in place. Secure the bolts using a torque of 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to attach the radiator outlet hose to the Thermostat Housing. Next reinstall the air cleaner assembly and complete the cooling system filling process.
