How to replace the door striker on 2001 Chevrolet Camaro?

One must open the door to reach the striker for replacement purposes. Starting by removing screws holding the striker to the jamb enables the extraction of shims and striker. Place the striker along with shims against the lock pillar before installing the striker screws loosely. Breaking the door open will allow possessive placement of the striker before re-opening the door to securely tighten screws to 24 N.m (18 lb ft). Complete the lock striker adjustment procedure as the last step.
