How to replace the front door striker on 2002 Chevrolet Camaro?

Begin by opening the door to get to the striker which needs replacement. First remove the screws which attach the striker to the jamb followed by extraction of shims and striker. Before installing the striker you should place it along with the shims onto the lock pillar before loosely installing the striker screws. Follow this step by closing the door to align the striker and afterwards reopen the door for tightening the striker screws to 24 N.m (18 lb ft). Complete the adjustment of the lock striker.
