2001 Chevrolet Cavalier Brake Line Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the rear brake line on 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier?
A: Prior to beginning the work you must raise your vehicle and put it on proper stands. Take off the wheel and tire before you wash off dirt and debris from the brake hose connections. Detach brake pipes from the brake hose without adjusting the brake pipe angle. Also remove retainer clips from the brake hose brackets before taking it out of the vehicle. Feeder the new brake hose into the brackets and fit the retainer clips (1, 2) onto the hose's connections at the brackets without creating bends. Join the brake pipes to the brake hose by fastening them with 23 Nm torque settings. Once complete put back the tire and wheel then lower the vehicle and bleed the brakes to make sure everything works as designed.
