    Q:
How to replace the rear brake line on Cadillac Eldorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
When replacing the rear brake hose you need to raise the vehicle and support it using jack stands. After that remove the tire and wheel assembly. Before beginning install the rubber cap or plug to protect brake pipe fittings after cleaning dirt from both equipment. Take off the brake pipe fitting from the brake hose before placing a new cap on it. A flat-blade tool helps disconnect the brake hose retainer before you remove the hose from both the bracket and caliper by taking out the brake hose to caliper bolt. Get rid of the stuck copper gaskets of the brake hose and use a plugging tool to secure the inlet fitting on the brake caliper. When installing replace the rubber plug from the caliper inlet and use new copper brake hose gaskets. Apply new brake hose gaskets to connect the brake hose to caliper bolt and install the assembly to the brake caliper by tightening it to 45 nm force while making sure the hose runs straight without bends. Attach the brake hose to rail brake bracket bolt while tightening to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.) and install its retainer. Put the brake hose fitting through the rubber cap and screw it to the brake pipe end before tightening to 15 mm (11 ft. Lbs.). Complete the job by bleeding brake fluid from the caliper screw then put back the tire and wheel assembly while lowering the vehicle.
