Ensure a systematic arrangement when marking all components for their future installation where each component will go back to its original position. A careful investigation of both valve lifters and guides must occur before valve installation can begin. Install each reused valve lifter back to its original position during replacement. Use clean engine oil to lubricate the valve lifters and their bores in the engine block. Position the valve lifters into their guides so that the flat areas at the lifter tops match the flat areas in the guide bore. After placing the lifter fully inside the guide bore install the valve lifters together with the guide to the engine block. Place the valve lifter guide bolt followed by torque application to precisely 12 nm (106 inch lbs.).after heading installation.
