Before replacing the valve lifters you must first remove the Cylinder Head and take out both guide bolts (211) and guides (210) along with the lifters while documenting the original guide position because the notched area must fit with the locating tab on the block. After removing the valve lifters (209) from the guide (210) mark all components for reinstallation to their exact previous positions. Before valve lifter installation pour clean engine oil into both valve lifters (209) and engine block lifter bores then push the lifters fully into the lifter guides (210) where the lifter flat surface matches the guide flat surface. Insert all valve lifters and guides (210) against the engine block while obeying fastener cautions and set in place the valve lifter guide bolts (211) at 10 nm (89 lb in). Finally, reinstall the Cylinder Head.
