- Q: How to replace the LH automatic transmission mount, Motor And Transmission Mount on 2001 Chevrolet Prizm?A: Starting with negative and positive Battery Cable removal the technician must uninstall the left automatic transmission mount. Begin by disconnecting the iat connector and moving onto remove the iat sensor and air cleaner hose and cap assembly along with the Air Filter and three air cleaner lower box bolts which will let you remove the air cleaner box. Using an engine support fixture to stabilize the engine, remove first the transaxle left mount through bolt followed by all four bolts securing the left transaxle mount and the three bolts and bracket securing the left transaxle bracket. Begin installation by tightening the left transaxle bracket bolts to 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.) before installing the left transaxle mount with its four bolts which also need 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.) torque. Safely reattach the transaxle mount through bolt with a torque of 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.) before removing the engine support fixture. The air cleaner box receives three bolts for installation before adding the Air Filter together with the air cleaner hose and cap assembly along with the iat sensor and reattaching the iat connector. The last step involves placing the battery tray and battery back in position then clamping the hold down bracket in place while tightening its bolt and nut to 12 nm (106 inch lbs.). Next reconnect the positive and negative battery cables.
