- Q: How to Replace a Motor and Transmission Mount for Left on 2002 Chevrolet Prizm?A: The procedure for left automatic transmission mount replacement begins with disconnecting the positive and negative battery cables and continuing to remove the battery hold down bracket bolt and nut until the battery bracket and battery and battery tray follow. First disconnect the iat connector and remove the iat sensor, air cleaner hose and cap assembly, air filter, and the three air cleaner lower box bolts to extract the air cleaner box. The installation process starts with engine support followed by transaxle left mount through bolt and four left transaxle mount bolts and three left transaxle bracket bolts with bracket removal. Start by tightening the left transaxle bracket's three bolts to 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.) then install the left transaxle mount with its four bolts also tightened to 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.). The transaxle mount through bolt needs installation following torque setting to 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.) while working without the engine support fixture. Installation begins with placing the air cleaner box onto the engine cube while tightening its three bolts before adding the Air Filter and air cleaner hose and cap assembly and iat sensor and lastly reattaching the iat connector. After securing the hold down bracket bolt and nut to a torque of 12 nm (106 inch lbs.) install the battery tray along with the battery and reconnect positive then negative cables of the battery.
