How to Replace a Motor and Transmission Mount for Rear on 2002 Chevrolet Prizm?

When replacing the rear transaxle mount start by removing power from the battery cables followed by adding the engine support fixture. First remove the right and left splash shields before disassembling the front tire and wheel assemblies. Following Ball Joint separation from the Control Arm through nut and bolt removal you should remove the two front transaxle mount bolts. Start by removing the 14 bolts from the front suspension crossmember and center crossmember before removing the rear transaxle mount through bolt and its mount from the transaxle. Start your installation by mounting the rear transaxle through bolt followed by tightening the mount bolt to 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.). Tighten to 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.) each of the 14 bolts which will reattach both the front suspension and crossmember system. You must now install the transaxle mount through bolt and torque it to reach 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.). Following engine support fixture removal, install the air cleaner box bolts before adding the Air Filter and air cleaner hose and cap assembly. Install the battery tray and battery into their respective mounts while using the hold down bracket, bolt, and nut which must be tightened to 12 nm (106 inch lbs.). Reconnect the positive along with the negative battery cables in the final step.
