Before sensor replacement start by lifting the vehicle into position. Start by removing the steering linkage shield mounting bolts if your vehicle features the underbody shield package then remove the shield. First disconnect the sensor's harness connector followed by removing the mounting bolt then extracting the CKP sensor from its position. Installation of the new CKP sensor requires complete sensor seating before bolt tightening to stop performance issues and Dream Auto CodeTrigger errors from occurring. Installation of the new CKP sensor O-ring requires engine oil lubrication before the sensor gets placed into the clean mounting surface which needs to be burr-free. Tighten the CKP sensor mounting bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in) after it is in place. Install the steering linkage shield after connecting the CKP sensor harness connector. Tighten the bolts to 33 N.m (24 lb ft). Complete the CKP System Variation Learn Procedure while lowering the vehicle.
