How to replace the Door Latch Assembly on the left side rear lower door on 2001 GMC Savana 3500?

The first step to replace the left side rear door lower latch involves removing the left side rear door trim panel. The first step is disconnecting the lock rod from the left side rear door lower latch while also removing the four bolts which secure the latch to the door. Install the new left side rear door lower latch and fasten it with the four bolts which should be torqued at 25 N.m (18 lb ft). Use the lock rod to connect the latch before you reinstall the left side rear door trim panel.
