  A: Begin the Throttle Position Sensor repair and servicing work by turning off the ignition followed by removing the air intake duct. Service begins by disconnecting three components - the evaporative emission (EVAP) purge line and the fuel lines as well as the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector. First remove the fasteners from the tp sensor then extract both the tps sensor and o-ring from the housing. When installing the sensor place the o-ring on the tp sensor before installing it onto the Throttle Body assembly. Use a thread-locking compound, such as loctite® 262, gm p/n #1052624, or equivalent, on the 2 tp sensor fasteners and tighten them to 2.0 n.m (18 lb in). Initiate the tp sensor electrical connector reconnection after evap purge line and fuel lines connections then reintall the air intake duct.
