  A: In order to install the Timing Chain, start by using the crankshaft socket (J 39946), installing the Timing Chain on the camshaft intermediate drive shaft sprocket and crankshaft sprocket, with timing marks aligned vertically. Ensure that number one Piston is at top dead centre or crankshaft pin is at about one o-clock position. Mount the main camshaft drive chain, camshaft intermediate drive shaft sprocket, and crankshaft sprocket onto the camshaft intermediate drive shaft and crankshaft. The camshaft intermediate drive shaft sprocket bolt needs to be tightened to 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.) with subsequent installation of the Timing Chain Guide and its bolts, which should tighten to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Rotate the ratchet release lever in a counterclockwise direction to collapse the Timing Chain Tensioner by collapsing the tensioner shoe into place, and pin it in the collapsed position. Install the main camshaft drive chain tensioner and its bolts (on 25 Nm (18 ft. Lbs.), and lastly disconnect the pin from the release lever retaining the timing marks in the vertical position.
