  A: Two necessary tools for wiper motor service include Wiper Transmission Separator (part J 39232) and Wiper Transmission Installer (part J 39529). Take off both wiper arms and the air inlet grille panel. Disassemble the windshield frame reinforcement by taking out its three bolts and two nuts. Then remove the reinforcement. Turn the wiper motor crank arm from park to its opposite direction to remove the harness grommet from the plenum hole. Remove the wiper motor harness connector then pass its cable together with the grommet through the plenum opening. Lift out the wiper system drive module by taking off the three mounting screws. Use the Wiper Transmission Separator (J 39232) to free the wiper motor crank arm from its drive link before removing the screws to take out both pieces from the wiper drive system module. Install the wiper motor on the wiper drive system module with screws and torque them to 8 N.m or 71 lb in. Hang the drive link onto the wiper motor crank arm using the Wiper Transmission Installer and position the wiper module downward into its upper plenum with its motor nose frontward before rotating the motor to align with the vehicle's rear. Install the three wiper drive system module screws and torque them to 8 N.m (71 lb in). Route the entire harness and grommet through the plenum opening and join the wiper motor harness correctly. Insert the harness grommet properly into the plenum hole. Put back the windshield frame reinforcement elements by tightening three bolts and two nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Reapply the air inlet grille and wiper arms. Check if the wipers work properly after installation.
