To change tailgate latch, one needs to bring down the endgate and loosen up the handle bolts and raise it again. Take out the handle bezel and release the linkage rods. Prop up the endgate, unscrew the cables and latch assembly, and screw in new latch, reconnections and rebolster of handle.
