  • Q: How to replace the right exhaust manifold on 2002 Cadillac Seville?
    A: Driving start the replacement of the right Exhaust Manifold by disconnecting the heated Oxygen Sensor at its sensor pigtail connector. The wheels must point straight ahead along with the Steering Column set to lock condition before working on the steering gear or intermediate shaft to avoid coil assembly damage. Implement Steering Column protection using Steering Column lock pin (J 42640). First raise the vehicle and implement supports and remove the Exhaust Manifold pipe in the rear section. Remove the secondary air tube by detaching its securing 2 nuts from the Exhaust Manifold while discarding the gasket. The post heated Oxygen Sensor wiring harness retainer needs disconnecting from the power steering gear heat shield followed by removing its 2 securing bolts. Detach the power steering gear heat shield followed by taking off its rearward-nut which secures the vehicle speed sensor heat shield. Afterwards loosen the forward nut to separate the heat shield from the transaxle. Separate the real-time dampening sensor links from the lower control arms but ensure to disconnect the intermediate shaft from the Rack And Pinion stub shaft to prevent damage. You must first detach the intermediate shaft from the steering gear by uninstalling its pinch bolt. The first removal steps involve taking out the nut which fastens the right Engine Mount to its bracket and the left transaxle mount to its bracket. A tall screw jack should support the engine frame rear section before removing its 4 rearward bolts which connect the frame to the body. Lower the implementation device by 4 cm (1.5 inches) to release pressure on the engine frame rear. Also remove the heated Oxygen Sensor when needed.
