  • Q: How to replace the left exhaust manifold on 2002 Cadillac Seville?
    A: Commence left Exhaust Manifold replacement by removing the two securing nuts which hold the secondary air tube to the Exhaust Manifold before detaching the tube and gasket which should become waste. The front Engine Mount Bracket should be removed before lifting the vehicle for better access. The vehicle maintenance process requires removal of the Oxygen Sensor if required. Remove the left Exhaust Manifold retaining bolts before disconnecting the 2 bolts joining the left Exhaust Manifold to the front Exhaust Manifold pipe. The process requires removal of the left Exhaust Manifold and its gasket while discarding both components. At the same time remove the front Exhaust Manifold pipe seal because it also needs replacement. Use a cleaning agent to eradicate and check the left Exhaust Manifold while you eliminate the retainer from the Exhaust Manifold flange seal. First assemble the retainer along with a brand new front Exhaust Manifold pipe seal onto the left Exhaust Manifold followed by placing a new Exhaust Manifold Gasket between this manifold and the left Cylinder Head. Connect the left Exhaust Manifold through the front Exhaust Manifold pipe to reach the left Cylinder Head before tightening its bolts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Both left Exhaust Manifold bolts connecting to the front Exhaust Manifold pipe must be secured to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) torque value. The Oxygen Sensor and front Engine Mount Bracket need to be reinstalled after which the vehicle can be lowered. The last step involves installing a new gasket to the secondary air tube before you fasten the secondary air tube to the Exhaust Manifold with two nuts at 12 nm (106 inch lbs.) torque setting.
