The Fuel Pressure Regulator can be detached from the Fuel Rail through a retainer clip removal process that involves lifting it while rotating with a shop towel covering any spilled fuel. Service begins with removing successively the lower o-ring and regulator assembly filter and upper o-ring before taking out the back up ring. A protective covering should be positioned at the Fuel Pressure Regulator housing to stop fuel system contamination. The process of installation requires new o-rings when using an existing regulator where gentle application of clean engine oil serves for lubrication. Install the filter along with the lower o-ring and back up ring and upper o-ring starting from the bottom before securing them with the retainer clip.
