• Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2002 Cadillac Seville?

  A: Firstly, you relieve the fuel system pressure in order to replace the Throttle Body assembly. Also, remove the air cleaner intake duct, pcv valve fresh air tube, unclip the cruise control cable & disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator controls cable bracket. Next, disconnect the cruise control cable as well as accelerator control cable from the Throttle Body lever , and iac valve electrical connector as well as tp sensor electrical connector . Remove the fuel feed and return lines from the retainer on the accelerator controls cable bracket then disconnect the transaxle shift cable clip and remove Throttle Body from the water crossover. Then, retract the accelerator controls cable bracket from the Throttle Body. In the installation, you will use a carburetor cleaner to remove deposits, which should not use the cleaner with methyl ethyl ketone. Put a new Throttle Body Gasket on Throttle Body and fix the accelerator cable bracket, tightening the bolts to 12 n.m (106 lb in). Connect the Throttle Body to the Throttle Body spacer using bolts, finger-tightening the two in the lower bolts before tightening all of them to 12 n.m (106 lb in). Reconnect the iac valve electrical connector and tp sensor electrical connector and install the accelerator control cable and cruise control cable at the Throttle Body lever. Reconnect the accelerator cable and cruise control cable onto the accelerator controls cable bracket , the transaxle shift cable clip , and the fuel feed and return lines. Finally, attach the air cleaner intake duct clamp to the air cleaner intake air duct and tighten 3 n.m (27 lb in) once again and install the pcv valve fresh air tube and the fuel injector sight shield. Consequently, the negative Battery Cable should be connected and the tp sensor learn process accomplished by turning the ignition switch to run/on for a period of one minute, after which switching it to lock/off for 15 seconds. Then do this followed by the iac valve learn procedure by running the engine and idling it for 15s, turning the ignition switch lock/off for 15s, restart and check the idle of the engine is operating as needed.
