Check all throttle valve surfaces while opening the valve to examine the Throttle Body bore and throttle valve plate for deposits. Never use methyl ethyl ketone (MEK)-based solvents when cleaning fuel system parts because this will lead to component damage. Use either gm top engine cleaner (1052626) or ac-delco carburetor tune-up conditioner (X66-P) or an equivalent product to clean the Throttle Body bore and throttle valve plate using a clean shop towel. Position the outlet of the air cleaner assembly and the maf sensor inlet duct so they line up properly because improper airflow readings will illuminate the mil and create driveability problems. Install the maf sensor with the air cleaner intake duct assembly while also tightening the clamps to 3 n.m (27 lb in). Afterward connect the maf sensor electrical connector.
