  A: A proper servicing and repair of the Fuel Rail requires one to start by relieving fuel system pressure. You should clean the Fuel Rail assembly by using gm x-30a or equivalent spray type engine cleaner according to package directions while preventing full immersion in liquid solvents. Service the Fuel Rail by disconnecting the fuel feed pipe (2) and return pipe (3) and the pressure regulator vacuum hose as well as the PCV Valve and air tube from the cam cover. Disconnect all Fuel Injector electrical connectors from each unit before removing the Fuel Rail bracket retainer nut. Place the harness to the side. The engine wiring harness must be removed first from the Fuel Rail studs until all Fuel Rail attaching studs are free plus the Fuel Rail itself is detached. The removal and disposal of injector lower o-ring seals should take place at the spray tip end of each injector. Reconnect the negative battery cable and check for fuel leaks by activating the ignition while the engine is off for two seconds followed by ten seconds of engine idle then checking again for leaks.
