First unfasten the seat back trim panel along with the two screws that secure the seat back cushion cover. The Door Trim Pad Clip Remover (J 38778) provides removal of the retainer at the seat back cushion center followed by removing the seat back cover. The next procedure requires removal of seat belt retractors and head restraint and side impact air bag. Remove the air lines for the seat back air bladder and heated seat electrical connectors when the vehicle is equipped with these features. After removing all retaining J channels from the seat back cover and pad assembly to the frame you should detach the seat back cover and cushion from the frame. The seat back pad needs its hook and loop patch separated from the seat back cover before the patch can be unfastened. Installation consists of placing the seat back cover onto the foam followed by correct positioning of the seat cover to the pad before fixing the hook and loop patch in place. Embed the seat back frame with the positioned seat back cover and pad after routing heated seat electrical connectors through the cushion frame and reinstalling J channels to the frame. Affix heated seat electrical connectors to the lines that supply air to the seat back air bladder provided the vehicle has this system. Fasten the front side impact air bag along with shoulder belt retractors and head restraint. You must reinstall the seat back cushion cover along with verifying the center retainer attaches to the frame then adding the two screws. The last procedure involves putting back the seat back trim panel while also enabling the SIR system functions.
