How to replace the power seat switch on 2002 Cadillac Seville?

The first step before replacing a power Seat Switch requires disabling the sir system. You need to move the front seat assembly to both forward and upward positions before you can get to the rear fasteners of the front seat cushion assembly. The first step involves removing the rear fasteners followed by adjusting the front seat assembly until it reaches the rear position of the vehicle. You can access the front fasteners by angling the front side of the front seat cushion. Then you can remove these fasteners. The user should carefully lift the front seat cushion assembly from the seat riser assembly while preserving the lumbar switch knob which forms the essential part of the lumbar switch assembly. Detach the knobs positioned on the Seat Switch followed by the Seat Switch trim plate bezel. Position the front seat cushion cover for exposure of the Seat Switch then use the door trim pad clip remover (J 38778) to eliminate the switch bracket retainers. A flat-blade tool should be used to disconnect the mounting bracket from the switch while simultaneously separating the electrical connector from the seat controls. Connect the electrical connector to the switch first followed by installation of the switch to the mounting bracket before mounting the seat switches onto the bottom frame of the seat. Guide the seat cover down past the switch while positioning its holes above the switch parts before fixing the switch bracket retainers to the seat bottom frame. Starting with front fasteners on the seat cushion assembly you must elevate and move forward the front seat assembly to reach the rear fasteners before tightening them to 9 n.m (80 lb in). You should tilt the front of the front seat cushion to reach its front fasteners which need tightening to 9 n.m (80 lb in). You must enable the sir system after putting in the knobs and switch trim plate bezel.
