How to replace the steering knuckle on 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier?

To replace the Steering Knuckle you will need to lift the vehicle on a hoist and remove the tire and wheel subsets. Then remove the Tie Rod from the Steering Knuckle, and if the vehicles are equipped with abs, pull out the abs electrical connector. Take off the hub and bearing assembly, then remove three bolts and six nuts that support the Steering Knuckle to the strut. Release the lower Ball Joint from the Steering Knuckle and take out the Steering Knuckle of the vehicle. For installation, install the Steering Knuckle back on vehicle and connect the lower Ball Joint onto it. Mount three bolts and six nuts to attach the car's Steering Knuckle to the strut, tightening nuts to 180 nm (133 ft. Lbs.). Resolve the reassembly of the hub and bearing assembly, reconnect the abs electrical connector if necessary, secure the Tie Rod to the Steering Knuckle, and reassemble the tires and wheel assemblies last of all. Finally, close with an examination of the front wheel alignment.
