  A: To replace the Brake Drum start by disengaging the parking brake and lifting up the vehicle. Seize the tire and wheel unit before you take out the drum. Use a screwdriver inserted through the hole in the backing plate to keep the Brake Shoe adjuster away from the park brake lever strut when the drum does not release without resistance. Lower the Brake Shoe adjustment by rotating the park brake lever strut with another screwdriver until the drum becomes free. Thread 2 bolts into the 2 holes of the drum and tighten them in the clockwise direction to release the drum from the backing plate ahead of removal. Check the drum condition then restore it through refinishing or replacement while examining the brake shoes and replacement of damaged parts. Place the drum back into position and put on the tire with wheel assembly before lowering the vehicle.
