2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the rear brake line on 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer?
A: To replace the rear brake hose start by raising the vehicle then place safety stands under it. After clearing dust and foreign objects you need to put a rubber seal on the brake pipe fitting to stop brake fluid from leaking in. Use a back up wrench to disconnect the brake hose at the brake pipe fitting and remove the brake hose retainer before pulling the brake pipe out from its joint position. First detach both the brake junction block mounting bolt and brake hose from its position. Install the component set correctly by avoiding any contact between the rear flex hose and other parts. Secure the brake junction block mounting bolt by tightening it to 17 Nm (13 lb ft). Fix the brake hose to the brake junction block at 17 Nm (13 lb ft), after that connect the brake hose adapter to the brake pipe adapter and tighten it to 17 Nm (13 lb ft). Depressure the brake fluid lines to start then remove safety stops before lowering the vehicle.
