How to replace the rear compartment trunk latch on 2003 Buick Century?

You need to open the rear compartment to mark the position of the existing latch with a grease pencil on the rear compartment lid. Detach electrical connectors from both the latch and cable connections at the lock cylinder. Take off the nuts holding the latch to the lid and detach the latch. After setting the new latch over the alignment marks place the nuts and tighten them to 10 N.m force (89 pound inch torque). Plug back in both cables and then complete the process by closing the rear compartment.
