How to replace the rear trunk latch on Buick Century?

Open the rear compartment space and use a grease marker to mark the latch position on the rear compartment lid. Take off cable connections from the rear compartment lid latch and the actuator from the lock cylinder to start work. Take off the nuts holding the rear compartment lid latch in place to the lid and pull out the latch. Setup the new rear compartment lid latch at its accurate places using the alignment marks on the lid before fixing the nuts at 10 Nm (89 lb in). Restore power flow through the latch and lock cylinder actuator cable to the lock cylinder before putting away the back compartment.
