2003 Buick LeSabre Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the front brake line on 2003 Buick LeSabre?
A: To install new front brake hose start with lifting and stabilizing the vehicle before taking off the tire and wheel components. You should wipe away dirt and foreign items from both brake parts and put a rubber restraint over the brake pipe end to keep dirt out. Sever the brake pipe connection from the brake hose and secure or seal the pipe end to prevent fluid flow. Unscrew the brake hose retainer with a flat tool, extract the brake hose from its bracket, disconnect the brake hose to caliper bolt and finally remove the brake hose. Get rid of the two copper brake hose gaskets that tend to stick to the caliper or hose end and install a rubber plug into the brake hose caliper bolt opening. Take off the bolt from the strut bracket to get at the hose and take out the hose itself. Install new copper brake hose gaskets by taking the rubber plug off from the brake hose to caliper bolt hole. Mount the brake hose onto the new gaskets and bolt while placing it onto the brake caliper. Tighten the bolt to 44 n.m (32 lb ft). After setting the brake hose in place keep it without any bends or turns because damage might develop. Push the brake hose onto its bracket and fasten the hose retainer. Finally discard the rubber cap on the brake pipe fitting end at the outlet. Secure the brake pipe fitting onto the brake hose by tightening it to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Afterwards, slot the hose bracket onto the strut assembly and fasten its bolt at 17 n.m (13 lb ft). Let air out of the hydraulic brakes before installing tire and wheel before lowering the vehicle down.
