2003 Buick LeSabre Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the underhood fuse box on 2003 Buick LeSabre?
A: The first step to replace an underhood electrical junction block starts by removing the negative Battery Cable along with the underhood fuse block cover. After you disconnect the positive battery cables fastener from the underhood fuse block proceed by removing the wiring harness clip on the accumulator cover. Position both components on the side until further work is possible. Secure the hose on the accumulator cover by removing its retaining clip before gently placing the hose to the side to remove the cover. The underhood fuse block connectors must have their fasteners relaxed before disconnecting all four cam lock connectors so the assembly can be extracted from its base. The engine harness connector must be disconnected before the underhood fuse block is taken off the vehicle and the base fasteners removed together with the assembly. Secure the underhood fuse block base into its vehicle position through fasteners which should be tightened to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Place the underhood fuse block into the 4 retaining locks and press until an audible click sounds and then tighten the 3 retaining bolts to 6.6 n.m (58 lb in). Secure the wiring harness into the clip on the cover before mounting the positive cables onto the stud then attach the positive Battery Cable fastener to the underhood fuse block by tightening it to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Insert the cover onto the underhood fuse block while repositioning the evaporator hose onto the accumulator cover and fastening it with the retaining clip followed by reconnection of the negative Battery Cable.
