There is a need to drain the cooling system to replace the surge-tank hose / pipe on a left-hand drive vehicle. Turn on the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to detach the surge tank outlet hose from the surge tank. Next, pull out the Wiper Motor module, and unbolt the surge tank outlet pipe onto the engine rear lift bracket. In other words, separate the heated oxygen sensor connection from the bracket, and then remove the bolt between the surge tank pipe outlet to the vent housing. Again using the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) unclasp the surge tank outlet hose from the pipe supplying the coolant to the engine and remove the surge tank outlet hose/pipe from the engine. For mounting, 1. Fix the surge tank outlet hose/pipe to the engine, 2. Use the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to connect the surge tank outlet hose to the coolant inlet pipe. Secure the bolt that is used to hold the surge tank outlet pipe into the pass on the engine rear lift bracket, tighten it to 9 nm 80 inch lbs., followed by the bolt holding the surge tank outlet pipe into the vent housing that is also to be tightened to 9 nm 80 inch lbs. Connect the heated oxygen sensor back to the bracket, installation of the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) on the surge tank outlet hose to the surge tank, and lastly installation of the Wiper Motor module and topping the cooling system.
