2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the engine mount on 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?
A: A proper Engine Mount replacement requires disconnecting the battery ground cable together with the throttle body air inlet duct removal. First detach the throttle body air inlet duct followed by Engine Mount strut removal to raise the vehicle using proper supports. Before replacing the Engine Mount begin by separating the three-way catalytic converter pipe from the right rear Exhaust Manifold followed by right front wheel and tire removal then right engine splash shield detachment. The engine support fixture enables you to lift the motor after you remove the bottom Engine Mount nuts. The next step involves removing the bolts holding the Engine Mount bracket to the Oil Pan before you can take out the Engine Mount along with its bracket. Proceed to remove Engine Mount upper nuts before detaching the mount from the Engine Mount bracket. To install the Engine Mount fix it to its bracket and secure the upper mounting bolts at 43 nm (32 ft. Lbs.). Fasten the Engine Mount bracket which holds the Engine Mount to the Oil Pan by tightening bolts to 58 nm (43 ft. Lbs.). Lower the vehicle and the engine before raising the vehicle to install the Engine Mount lower nuts which should be tightened to 43 nm (32 ft. Lbs.). Install the right engine splash shield, right front wheel along with tire afterwards connect the three-way catalytic converter pipe between right rear Exhaust Manifold. The process ends with lowering the vehicle then detaching the support fixture before adding Engine Mount struts and installing the throttle body air inlet duct and reconnecting the battery ground cable.
