How to replace the lower control arm on 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

To replace the lower Control Arm, first lift and support the vehicle, after that remove the wheel and tire. Next, remove the outer tie rod retaining nut and loosen the outer tie rod from the Steering Knuckle using the steering linkage and tie rod puller (J24319-B). Unfit the stabilizer shaft link lower retaining nut and then disconnect the stabilizer shaft link from the lower Control Arm as well as the washer. Take off the shock module yoke lower mounting nut and, using the steering linkage and tie rod puller (J24319-B), sever the shock module lower Control Arm. It's also important to proceed and remove the nuts of the lower Control Arm to lower Control Arm Bracket mounting, while paying close attention to the direction of the bolt towards reinstallation, later removing the nuts of lower Control Arm to lower Control Arm Bracket mounting bolts. Then, take off the lower Ball Joint retaining nut and disconnect the lower Ball Joint from the Steering Knuckle with Ball Joint remover (J43631), securing the Axle Shaft to the transmission (if equipped with 4WD). Swing the lower Control Arm to outward and downward to decouple it from the lower Control Arm Bracket, after which you will remove the lower Control Arm from the Steering Knuckle. To install, you will have to install the lower Control Arm to the Steering Knuckle on condition that you do not disengage the Axle Shaft from the transmission. Pivot the lower Control Arm outward and upwards to attach it to the lower Control Arm Bracket and install the lower Control Arm lower Control Arm Bracket mounting bolts while the lower Control Arm is parallel with the bracket at the time of installing and tightening. Mount the lower Control Arm to lower Control Arm Bracket mounting nuts and bolt it in 110 nm (81 ft. Lbs.). Attach the shock module yoke to the lower Control Arm, and bolt the shock module yoke lower mounting. Check that the stabilizer shaft link is installed to the lower Control Arm with the washer, followed by the stabilizer shaft link retaining nut, which must be tightened to 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.). Finally, install outtie rod to Steering Knuckle and tighten the outtie rod retaining nut to 45 nm (33 ft. Lbs.) re-install the tire and wheel, lower the vehicle and check the front wheel alignment.
