2004 Buick Century Coolant Reservoir Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the coolant reservoir on 2004 Buick Century?
A: In order to replace the coolant recovery reservoir, one would first relocate the Coolant Reservoir hose clamp to the radiator overflow fitting; after which, the cooling reservoir hose would be removed from the clip at the power distribution center and radiator overflow fitting. Next, remove the nuts from the shock tower studs, take out the coolant recovery reservoir from the lower retainer and shock tower studs draining the coolant into a clean container. For installation, install the coolant recovery reservoir back to the lower retainer and shock tower studs making sure the nuts are installed onto the shock tower studs and tightened to the torque rating of 3.3 nm (29 inch lbs.). Put some clean water to lubricate the reservoir hose and route it into the radiator overflow neck fitting, then, connect the Coolant Reservoir hose to the radiator overflow fitting ensuring that the hose end is flush to radiator filler neck, and the clamp is seated squarely between the radiator filler neck and the flared end of the fitting. Replace the Coolant Reservoir hose clamp to the radiator overflow part, connect the Coolant Reservoir hose using the clip at the power distribution center and pour the coolant recovery reservoir to the correct level.
