2004 Buick LeSabre Pushrod Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the pushrod and valve rocker arm on 2004 Buick LeSabre?
A: Start the valve Rocker Arm and push rod replacement by obtaining a torque angle meter (J 36660-A). Rephrase the left and right valve Rocker Arm covers first and then remove the valve Rocker Arm pedestal retaining bolts before removing the pedestal. The assemblies must be placed on a clean surface till reassembly happens. Proceed with removing both the Rocker Arm assembly and the pushrods before cleaning all thread adhesive from the bolts while inspecting the valve rocker arms and pushrods. Begin by setting in the pushrods then the valve Rocker Arm assembly after which you install the pedestal. The two bolts securing the lower Intake Manifold to the Cylinder Head become reachable only after disassembly of the upper Intake Manifold positioned at both right-front and left-rear locations of the lower manifold. The gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) threadlocker compound serves as the install application along with other equivalent compounds before setting the valve Rocker Arm pedestal retaining bolts to a torque range of 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) + 90 degrees following torque angle meter (J 36660-A) protocol. As the last step reinstall the left and right valve Rocker Arm covers before checking for valve train noise.
