How to replace the rear brake disc on 2004 Cadillac CTS?

To change the rear brake rotor, first make sure that the park brake is up and lift the vehicle to have a support. Take the tire and wheel assembly off and support the lock caliper with heavy mechanic's wire to prevent the hydraulic flexible brake hose from suffering while separating from the assembly of the caliper and its mounting bracket off much suspension knuckle. Mark match the position of the brake rotor compared to the position of the wheel studs, and then remove the brake rotor mounting screw followed by softly pulling the rotor off, and if necessary rotating it. If the rotor can't be easily taken off, connect the rotor removal tool (J 46277) to slide hammer with adapter (J 2619-01) and pull the rotor off the hub assembly with it. Check the park brake components to see any damages that needs to be replaced. Resurface a rusty hub/axle flange and brake rotor mating surfaces by using the Wheel Hub resurfacing kit (J 42450-A) and the rotor resurfacing kit (J 41013). The Parking Brake Shoe gap must be adjusted to accommodate the new brake rotor that's being installed; it can be found in matching mark and it must be fitted to be right, therefore fasten it to brake rotor mounting screw with 14nm (124 inch lbs.). Check the assembled lateral runout (LRO) of the brake rotor and should it fall under the specifications always correct. Finally, reinstall the brake caliper and bracket assembly, tire and wheel assembly, lower the vehicle, and if needed, burnish the pads and rotors.
