You need to lift and place support under the vehicle before starting the front Brake Disc replacement work. Take off the wheel and tire combination. Always tie down the brake caliper to heavy mechanic's wire or similar when working with the caliper separate from its mounting but connected to the hydraulic brake hose as improper caliper placement may damage the hose and create a brake fluid leak. Do not take apart the hydraulic brake flexible hose from the caliper while servicing. Pull the brake assembly from suspension knuckle while avoiding torque on hydraulic brake hose. Locate the Brake Disc to the wheel studs before you take out the brake mounting screw and disc. Wipe away rust and dirt from both sides of the hub/axle flange and Brake Disc using j 42450-a wheel hub resurfacing kit and j 41013 rotor resurfacing kit. Check the mating surface area to verify no dirt or fragments exist before moving forward. Install the Brake Disc properly due to its matchmark position before adding the Brake Disc mounting screw and tightening it to 14 nm (124 inch lbs.). After brake system work remove the Brake Disc and check the assembled disc lateral runout (LRO) to reach required performance levels. Adjust the Brake Disc when its measurements show beyond allowed tolerances. Attach the brake caliper assembly onto the suspension knuckle followed by fitting tire and wheel assembly and lifting the vehicle down then perform required Brake Pad and disc burnishing for new components.

Reach safety by lifting the vehicle and setting it on stands before replacing the front Brake Disc. Insert the c-clamp tool type j 41013 onto the brake caliper body from behind with its ends facing the outboard Brake Pad and the back of the caliper. Compress the piston inside the caliper with tool pressure until you can push the brake caliper away from the disc. Secure the piston in the caliper bore through gentle pressure from the c-clamp before taking the clamp off. Secure the brake caliper using mechanic's wire to shield the hydraulic flexible brake hose from harm. Take out the brake caliper and its mounting bracket together from the suspension knuckle while keeping the hydraulic brake hose free of tension. Locate the disc position on the hub before taking off the Brake Disc. Remove rust from both sides of the hub axle flange and Brake Disc with the j 42450-a and j 41013 kits. Examine the disc and hub/axle flange joints for unwanted particles before you securely position the disc based on the mark you set after brake removal. When Brake Disc replacement belongs to a braking system overhaul check the assembled Brake Disc lateral runout to verify proper working order; adjust the runout when it exceeds standard values. Set the Brake Caliper Bracket first before placing the brake caliper onto the bracket and finally reassemble the wheel and tire. After lowering the car you need to bed in new brake pads when the disc received brake work.

Start your work by launching the car without engaging the parking brake and then making it stable. Place mechanic wire under the brake caliper to protect the hydraulic brake hose while you lift the unit away from the disc. Remove the caliper mounting bracket together as a unit but keep the brake hose free from tension. Align the Brake Disc with its wheel studs before you take off the disc mounting bolt. To take out the disc when it resists removal try using the rotor removal tool j-46277 in combination with the slide hammer j 2619-01 adapter set. Check if park brake parts are broken and start replacing damaged items right away. Before putting on a new Brake Disc you must prepare the hub/axle flange contact surfaces by cleaning them with the wheel hub resurfacing kit (J 42450-A) and rotor resurfacing kit (J 41013). Turn the parking brake adjustment tool to adjust shoe clearance before installing the Brake Disc at its identified location. Put the mounting screw into the disc and tighten it to 14 n.m (124 pound inches). Examine how well the Brake Disc moves side-to-side while assembled. Adjust it if its measurement exceeds factory standards. Put back the brake caliper bracket assembly and wheel components before lowering the vehicle and running pad and disc surfaces against each other if required.

Remove the brake rotor mounting screw and the rotor itself, easing it off if necessary.

Reinstall the brake caliper and bracket assembly, the tire and wheel assembly, lower the vehicle, and if applicable, burnish the pads and rotors.

Support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic's wire or an equivalent whenever it is separated from its mount while the hydraulic flexible brake hose remains connected.

Install the rotor using the matchmark for proper orientation.

The J 41013 Rotor Resurfacing Kit and the J 42450-A Wheel Hub Resurfacing Kit.

Reinstall the brake caliper and bracket assembly, the tire and wheel assembly, lower the vehicle, and if applicable, burnish the pads and rotors.
