Vehicle shock absorber replacement starts by elevating and steadying the vehicle before taking off the wheel and tire. Start by removing the shock module from its vehicle position while putting it into the spring compressor. It is necessary to identify which parts of the upper Control Arm assembly and insulator need marking for future installation reference. Twist the spring compressor forcing screw to condense the coil spring until the shock absorber becomes free moving. First remove the shock absorber upper retaining nut before taking out the shock absorber from the shock module. The upper Control Arm bracket and coil spring should be separated from the spring compressor by loosening its forcing screw. For shock absorber installation start by orienting the brackets' alignment pins at a 90-degree angle with the shock absorber lower mounting holes and position the coil spring together with insulator and upper Control Arm bracket assembly and shock absorber into the spring compressor while aligning visible marks. Use the spring compressor forcing screw to compress the coil spring once more before installing the shock absorber retaining nut and securing it at 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). The shock module should be removed from the spring compressor to install it onto the vehicle after placing tires back onto the wheels prior to vehicle lowering.
