Start the replacement process by separating the swage ring from the halfshaft bar with a hand grinder while protecting the halfshaft bar from damage. Use side cutters to remove and then discard the large seal retaining clamp at the tripot joint. First remove the trilobal tripot bushing from the inboard seal at its large diameter before moving the seal away from the joint along the halfshaft bar. Once the tripot joint spider and halfshaft bar house are detached, employ snap ring pliers to distribute the spacer ring. Reposition the halfshaft bar retaining ring to free the spacer ring and tripot joint spider assembly then slide them back onto the halfshaft bar.
