To change the rear Axle Shaft seal or bearing, first, lift the vehicle to take away the tire and wheel set. Then remove the rear axle housing cover and the gasket, as well as the Axle Shaft. Remove the Axle Shaft seal or the bearing from the axle housing by using the rear axle seal and bearing remover (J 44685) and the slide hammer (J 2619-01). In installation, use the bearing installer (J 23690) and the universal driver handle (J 8092) to install the Axle Shaft bearing while pushing it into the axle housing until it bottoms on the tube. Next, install the axle pinion oil seal using the axle pinion oil seal installer (J 21128), then, followed by the Axle Shaft.
