How to replace the rear brake line on 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

You need to lift the vehicle and take off its tire and wheel assembly to replace the back brake hose. Wipe away all dirt and foreign particles that have accumulated on the brake pipe and hose fittings. Put a rubber plug on the brake pipe ends using back up wrench to protect fluid from leaking and dirt damage. Unscrew the attachment bolt from the brake frame and the bolt from the brake caliper. While doing this, carefully remove metal gaskets stuck to the brake caliper and brake hose end then discard the copper gaskets. You should only use brand new copper gaskets on the rear Brake Caliper Bolt before attaching the rear brake hose to the caliper and fastening the bolt at 44 nm (23 ft. Lbs.). Insert the brake pipe into the front brake hose and use a back up wrench to fix the rear brake pipe with 20 nm torque. Secure the brake pipe-retaining bolt on the frame using a torque of 20 nm or 18 ft. Lbs. After draining the hydraulic brake fluid perform its bleeding process then attach the tire and wheel unit back onto the vehicle.
