How to replace the Wheel Speed Sensor on 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

Raising the vehicle allows you to take off the tire then wheel followed by the brake rotor. Remove the wire harness retainers before taking off the electrical connection. Pull the sensor straight out of the bore using bare hands because devices can break the sensor body. Stick to the original specification of the stainless steel shim and do not try to separate it from the bearing assembly to prevent harmed sensor and abs performance. Keep lubricant inside the sealed bearing protected at all times during maintenance steps to prevent bearing failure from occurring prematurely. Insert the new speed sensor with its o-ring. Discard the old o-ring and lightly apply bearing grease to the new one except on the bore. Set the speed sensor mounting screw with 17 nm (12 ft. Lb) torque. Refit the electrical connector and choose the new speed sensor fastening clips instead of the old ones. After fitting the wiring harness to its frame and Control Arm slots you must place the brake rotor and tire wheel back into place.
