How to replace the Wheel Speed Sensor on 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

Raise the vehicle and take off the wheel and tire to get to the brake rotor for Wheel Speed Sensor replacement. Pull off the Wheel Speed Sensor wiring harness retainers and disconnect the electric connection. Use fingers to gently draw the sensor straight from the bore space without tools to avoid breaking the sensor casing. Maintaining the stainless steel shim directly attached to the bearing assembly will help preserve sensor and abs performance so do not attempt to remove it. Keep the bearing lubricant protected during cleaning and hub work to prevent fast bearing breakdown. Install the new speed sensor and its included o-ring into the hub and bearing assembly. Dispose of the old o-ring and apply light bearing grease to only the o-ring and the sensor ends that touch it. Avoid placing grease inside the sensor bore. Put the speed sensor into the hub and bearing parts then fasten the speed sensor mounting screw at 17 nm (12 ft. Lbs.). Plug back the electrical wires while changing to new retaining clips from the kit. Place both parts of the Wheel Speed Sensor wiring harness onto its designated locations on the frame and control arm. Then put on the brake rotor before putting back the wheel and tire.
