How to replace the front brake pads on 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

Before working on the front brake pads check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir. No fluid needs to be adjusted if the mark sits between full and lowest safe marks but if the level is above that range use a brake fluid extractor tool to relocate it to the midway point. Lift the vehicle and take off its tire and wheel components. Push the piston into the brake caliper using a large c-clamp on top of the brake housing over the piston. Slowly tighten the clamp until the piston reaches brake caliper depth and then remove the clamp. Take out the lower guide pin bolt now to move the brake caliper up to its stopping point while you extract the Brake Pad sets plus mounting clips from the Brake Caliper Bracket and housing. Use a clean alcohol solution to eliminate all foreign pieces from the brake caliper. You need to replace Brake Pad retaining clips whenever you put new brake pads on the car. Install one clip on each side into the brake caliper mounting bracket and brake caliper. Order the brake caliper clip to perfectly fit inside. Fit both brake pads in their spaces then push the brake caliper down to its place while screwing the lower guide pin bolt to 42 nm (31 ft.lbs.). Place the tire wheel back in place then secure it while lowering the vehicle before refilling the master cylinder reservoir. Use slow and strong Brake Pedal pressure to place the brake pads correctly and create a smooth surface on new brake pads.
