    A: To replace the negative cable of the battery, one should first make sure the replaced cables are of the same type, gauge, and length as original. Start by connecting the ground (negative) cable from the battery, then follow by disconnecting the battery positive cable. And after that unwire the battery nut and cable from the underhood electrical center, remove the battery ground cable bolt for the inner fender. Remove the attachment of the battery cable conduit retainer from the lower tie bar, and remove battery ground (negative)chemical nut and cable from the transaxle stud. Next, disconnect the starter motor BAT terminal nut and the BAT positive cable at the starter motor BAT terminal and remove both battery ground (negative) and battery positive cables from the vehicle. For installation, begin by attaching the battery ground (negative), and the positive cables to the vehicle. Connect the battery positive cable and nut to the starter motor BAT terminal and tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Next, connect and tighten the battery ground (negative) cable and nut onto the transaxle stud at a torque of 25 N.m (18 lb ft). Replace the battery cable conduit retainers to the lower tie bar and connect the battery ground (negative) cable, and bolt to the inner fender while tightening as much as the bolt will stop at 5 N.m (44 lb in). Connect the battery positive cable and nut to the underhood electrical center, tightening 10 N.m (89 lb in), followed by the attachment of the battery positive cable and bolt to the battery. Tighten the terminal bolt of the battery to 16 N.m (12 lb ft). Finally, connect the battery ground (negatives) cable to battery.
