2005 Buick LeSabre Brake Pad Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the rear brake pads on 2005 Buick LeSabre?
A: Before removing the rear brake pads check the brake master cylinder reservoir fluid level. Reduce the fluid when it reaches or exceeds the midway mark between the maximum and minimum points. Lift the vehicle and detach the tire and wheel parts. Put the Brake Caliper Piston into its bore by pressing with a large c-clamp yet keep piston travel under 1 mm to protect brake mechanisms. Detach the brake caliper bolt from bottom brake caliper and the lower Control Arm park brake cable guide bolt. Secure the brake caliper to keep it from harming the hydraulic brake hose while you turn the brake body upward with wire and hold it in place. Check the condition of Brake Pad retainers after removing both brake pads from the Brake Caliper Bracket. Inspect brake caliper bolt boot suspension for damage and update when found broken while also testing the brake caliper pin bolts for rust damage and replacing affected parts. Use a spanner tool to push the Brake Caliper Piston inside the bore while aligning small openings on the piston with matching pins on the brake pads. Add high-temperature silicone lube to brake caliper bolts and slide the Brake Pad retainers into the Brake Caliper Bracket followed by installing the brake pads from inboard to outboard position. Push the brake caliper down over the brake pads and bring it into position before threading and tightening both the lower brake caliper pin bolt to 27 n.m (20 lb ft) and park brake cable guide bolt to 24 n.m (18 lb ft). Put the tire and wheel back and follow with a lowered vehicle. Press the Brake Pedal gently at 2/3 of its possible travel before releasing it slowly when the engine stands still. Press the Brake Pedal twenty times with breaks over a 15-second duration until you achieve proper Brake Caliper Piston and pad positioning. End by filling the brake reservoir until it reaches its correct fluid level and polishing both pads and rotors.
