2005 Buick LeSabre Fuse Box Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the underhood fuse box on 2005 Buick LeSabre?
A: It is necessary to start replacement of the underhood electrical center or junction block by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable and unscrewing the cover from the underhood fuse block. The process begins by removing the fastener of the positive battery cables from the underhood fuse block then unscrewing the wiring harness clip from the accumulator cover into a safe area. First remove the retaining clip that holds the evaporator hose to the accumulator cover and put the hose to the side before taking out the accumulator cover. Unfasten the underhood fuse block connectors to their base before detaching each of the 4 cam lock connector units and raising the assembly above its base. First procedure requires removal of engine harness connector then the underhood fuse block must be extracted from the vehicle before separating the base fasteners and base assembly pieces. Secure the underhood fuse block base to the vehicle while using fasteners that need to be tightened to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Complete the connection of the engine harness connector to the underhood fuse block followed by connecting all block connectors while tightening their 3 retaining bolts to 6.6 n.m (58 lb in). Press the underhood fuse block into its four retaining locks until they produce an audible click sound before adding the wiring harness and accumulator cover to its clip. Fix the positive cables to their stud and attach the positive Battery Cable fastener to the underhood fuse block while tightening it to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). To complete the repair process, cover the underhood fuse block while you position the evaporator hose onto the accumulator cover where it can be fastened with the retaining clip. Also reinstall the negative Battery Cable.
